Breidis Prescott: I cashed Amir Khan for years!
Saturday, July 21st, 2012 1:03:11 by Imran Shaukat KhanThe Colombian power puncher Breidis Prescott is constantly taking digs at former WBA & IBF light welterweight champion, Amir Khan, in order to set up a potential rematch.
Prescott fought Khan back in 2008 and he shocked everyone by becoming the first man ever to knockout Khan in the ring.
However, now Danny Garcia has also joined the exclusive club, as he secured a fourth round TKO win over the Brit last Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a fight which had WBC & WBA titles on the line.
Perhaps this is a reason why Prescott is not much happy. While taking on his inclusion, he insisted that he has mixed emotions about no longer being the only man to stop Khan in the ring.
“In a way, I enjoyed the notoriety of being the only fighter to ever knock him out,” explained Prescott, “but it was also pretty clear he was never going to face me again. I chased him for years offering him the chance to redeem himself and he was always too frightened to take it. Now that there’s a new guy at the top of the division, maybe he’ll have a little more courage to take the tough fights against guys like me.”
After knocking out Khan in 54 seconds, Prescott anxiously wanted a rematch in order to get another big payday but he was turned down by Khan.
Nevertheless, Prescott is still after him but since he knows Khan will not fight him, he has set Garcia in his sights.
He said, “I need a new claim to fame! I’m going to have to knock out somebody else at the top of the division. I like being the first to knock someone out. I’m the power punching pioneer!”
Prescott is currently gearing up for his upcoming junior welterweight battle against Francisco ‘Gato’ Figueroa of New York in the main of event of Warriors Boxing’s ‘Miami Warfare 2’ event at the MACC at the Doubletree Hotel in Miami, Florida on August 18 and he knows in order to set up a fight with Garcia, he will have to beat very talented Figueroa.
“He’s a good fighter,” said Prescott of Figueroa, “but he can’t take my power. No one can when I’m feeling as good as I am now.”

That was back in 2008. I think Khan now will knock Prescott down on his ass.
