Why the new Google Nexus 7 is out of stock? No brainer, it is the best – Part 1
Monday, July 23rd, 2012 3:23:34 by Usman KhalidIt has been almost a month since the official release of Google’s own first tablet, Nexus 7. The 7-inch device, as obvious from the name, is a slick and simple slate that has the latest hardware and software with a dirt-low price tag.
That maybe one of the reasons why its 16 GB version is out of stock at most brick-and-mortar and onlie stores, including Google Play. That shows strong sign that the device is running a hot streak in the market that is already waterlogged with tablets from Apple and Google’s own hardware partners.
Though there are no official figures published by the company on how many of these devices have been sold but the Google Play website now has a modified product listing that has a status ‘Coming Soon’ for the 16 GB variant. Customers can sign up to find out its availability in the coming days.
On the other hand, the 8 GB Nexus 7 is still available on Google’s app store with a shipping time of 3 to 5 days.
This scintillating increase in the tablet’s demand is due to number of reasons. Google did not follow the regular launch-release model that most of the OEMs do. Normally a device is officially launched first and released after a couple of weeks or a month.
The Nexus 7 was up for grabs right after the launch presentation. This created a marketing buzz so huge that customers started hording at stores and e-shops within hours.
