Indian football rising
Tuesday, July 24th, 2012 4:21:51 by Shahrukh SohailThe beautiful game is slowly but surely rising in India, with several of their players recently going abroad to play.
Sunil Chhetri recently secured a deal to take him to Sporting Lisbon, while Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has also been chosen for trials at Wigan Athletic.
And now current Indian shot-stopper Subrata Pal is also set to travel to Germany, where he will take part in trials with Redbull Leipzig in order to secure a permanent contract with them.
With the whole National team improving, it’s no surprise that footballers on an individual level are also rising. Baichung Bhutia was the last Indian to ply his trade professionally in England, but Sunil Chhetri has been travelling as well.
All in all, things bode well for football in India and could one day see the club rise up in the world rankings.
