The most important and make-or-break part of any laptop is its track pad. Any laptop that does not have a responsive track pad, Windows laptops in this case, they are destined to fail. MacBook has set the bar up high in the track pad standards with has not been topped yet.

Though the new Series 9 does not have a very impressive track pad it does not have one that is seamlessly responsive. The new Series 9 has built-in software for touch pad called Elan. The application does collaborate with the pad and the screen but sometimes there are certain failures like icons or windows being dragged or text being highlighted by accident. This problem has occurred on other Windows laptops for me, especially with tap-to-click turned on.

The 1,280×1,024-pixel maximum resolution webcam nestled on the top bezel of the screen is good for video chatting. It takes photos and videos with good ambiance. CyberLink YouCam 3 software is preinstalled for chatting.

Hardware

The base model priced at $1299 has a 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-3317U processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD). The aforementioned is a standard configuration for any ultrabook at this price every device is stuck in the thick of it. However, unlike some of its competition the Series 9 is upgradable. For example, the user can upgrade to Windows 7 Professional for an extra $100.
