Will Brad Paisley join Mariah Carey on the American Idol? Entertainment News
The American reality singing competition recently picked out pop-star Mariah Carey as the new “idol” judge after the departure of former judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.
Next up, the name of country superstar Brad Paisley is also in the running to be selected as the second judge of the American Idol. According to many sources, the Grammy winner artist is being considered for one of the vacant spots on the judges’ panel,
following the exits of Tyler and JLo.
A lot of people support the idea as adding a country veteran to the American Idol Judges’ panel makes sense. Furthermore, several "Idol" alums paved their way via country music, including Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina Carrie Underwood, and Kellie Pickler.
Even Paisley showcased his singing talent on the show. He also worked with ‘Idol’ artists outside of the singing competition. He was a co-host with Carrie Underwood at the CMA Awards for four years and topped the country charts with their duet "Remind Me."
Moreover, Paisley invited another “Idol” Scotty McCreery to join him on tour.
There’s been no information yet from Paisley’s side, but if his tour wraps according to the plan, he would technically be free join the Idol.
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey expressed her delight in joining the show. "It’s gonna be so much fun working on @AmericanIdol," she tweeted. "As a singer-songwriter, I’m excited to help find and nurture new talent."
"I think that that’s fantastic, Mariah Carey joining the panel," season 10 singer Haley Reinhart told MTV News about the show’s latest casting shakeup. "She knows what it’s all about. She’s got the golden voice. I think that out of a lot of different people,
she would be the diva to stand there and be able to give people real advice, real criticism."
Paisley would take next seat to Carey and possibly Randy Jackson on the panel.
