Samsung getting overwhelming response for Galaxy series

Samsung has earned 4,800 million Euros in the fourth quarter, thanks to sales of mobile phones range- Galaxy S. The mobile phone provides 60% of the Korean group’s earnings.

Proceedings from the handset division have doubled in a year, while the other major source of income, television, has stabilized. Its shares rose 4.7%.

The director of Samsung Telecommunication Business, JK Shin, told Reuters that sales of the Galaxy S III, the most aggressive competitor of the iPhone, had been better than expected, after its launch in late May.

He is of the view that the technology giants are also preparing a new model of popular mobile-tablet Galaxy Note, to address new product launches Apple.

According to some reports, Samsung will sell 10 million copies of Galaxy S III, which was introduced in late May, by the end of next June.

“It appears that (accumulated sales) has exceeded 10 million units.” Shin went on.

Samsung, meanwhile, have got overwhelming of the Galaxy series predecessors, as they sold 20 million Galaxy S phone in 2010 and approximately sold 30 million Galaxy S II phones in 2011.

However, they are expected to sell more copies than ever, competing with Apple, this year by introducing the new range of Galazy.
