Saturday, July 28th, 2012 5:01:52 by Usman KhalidWith an optical drive nestled on one side and a hard drive dwelling under the hood, the Series 7 is a fast machine with a slim chassis but is not an ultrabook.
In terms of performance, the Series 7 is a fast device that can easily replace a desktop for professional work . With a Core i7 quad-core Ivy Bridge processor and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce graphics card, it a professional machine but the asking price, $1639, is quite high for market.
MacBook Pro with Retina Display
First introduced in iPhone 4 in 2010, the new display technology was the best in the smartphone market. However, slowly it has taken root in the personal computing market as well. The extremely sharp display has made its way to MacBook Pro as well.
Introduced this summer, the MacBook Pro is most expensive device in the market with a price tag of $2199. However, for that price, the owner gets the ultimate professional machine that can not only replace a desktop but now can work even more efficiently than one.
Equipped with a Intel Core i7-3615QM quad-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz and available up to 3.3 GHz, a discrete NVIDIA graphics card and 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, it churns the best performance.
The only caveat in the success of the MacBook Pro 2012 in terms of the sales is the beefed up price. Once that is lowered, the MacBook Pro will not have a big problem in catching up sales figures.
