Kaira thinks Shahbaz politicizing loadshedding issue

point scoring. He was of the view that this was high time all the political leaders sat together to strengthen the federation.
Kaira, who was addressing a press conference along with the federal minister for water and power Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar at Muzaffargarh Thermal Power Station, said that last week, amid a windstorm, about 19 steel structure transmission
towers of Wapda in Muzaffargarh broke out. The incident resulted in abandoning the national grid from receiving 1800MW power, leading a protracted disrupted supply of electricity.
Kaira said that the Punjab CM tried to take advantage of the situation to gain some political mileage. He said it was a totally natural disaster that hit and damaged main transmission lines including one 500 KV line and three 220
KV lines.
In such difficult situation, Kaira said, these were the Wapda engineers who rushed to the location from all over the county and managed to restore 1100 MW of electricity supply.
He claimed that considering the pace of repair work going on, another 350 MW of power supply will be restored by today evening, while rest of the 350MW is expected to come into the national grid by Tuesday evening.
Referring to Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, the federal minister for information and broadcasting said that all the provinces were part of Pakistan and the government believes in equitable distribution of electricity on the basis of
needs in accordance with the population and industry.
