Khawaja Asif alleges Imran Khan of gambling with donations
Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 11:28:16 by Fayyaz YaseenIslamabad: (Wednesday, August 01, 2012) Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Khawaja Asif said here today that donations given in the form of Zakat and Sadaqah to the Shaukat Khanum cancer hospital were sent abroad to be
invested in the real estate markets.
Alleging that the money was being misused, Asif claimed that the Zakat funds given to the Shaukat Khanum Hospital were used in real estate markets and other companies. He also said that there were several members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf
(PTI) who were involved in doing so.
The PML-N leader also blamed Imran of investing $ 20 million in failed real estate ventures. He said that the PML-N is ready to face Khan in court over these allegations.
Countering the blame, while Imran has made it clear that the money was of ‘endowment fund’ of the hospital, and was hedged, so a loss was out of question, the PML-N is now diverting from its earlier stance, saying that all what
they said was about taking the money abroad, and that the money should have been invested here in Pakistan.
