Amir Khan: I have been called by Hollywood and Bollywood but I want to be a winner first!
Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 1:50:07 by Imran Shaukat KhanFormer WBA and IBF unified light welterweight champion Amir Khan has revealed he wants to becomes an actor after he walks away from the boxing but the Bolton man, who is more commonly known as King Khan, wants to be the winner first.
Khan lost his battle against Lamont Peterson last year and earlier this month he suffered a fifth-round knockout defeat at the hands of Danny Garcia.
The 25-year-old was a heavy favorite in both fights but he was stunned and now he has said that he wants to be the winner.
The Brit revealed he has offers from Hollywood and Bollywood but he is not in a mood to accept them because he wants to prove himself first by becoming a winner once again.
“I couldn’t turn that down because I’m a big fan of the Rocky movies, so I’d do that,” said Khan.
“But I don’t want to be the one that’s getting knocked out, so I’m going to be the winner first, but after boxing.
“I’ve been asked to do films by Hollywood and a few English directors and also by Bollywood, you know how big Bollywood is – I’ve not really looked into it.”
Khan won silver medal in the 2004 Olympics and afterwards when he stepped into professional boxing, his fame has risen dramatically.
However, when asked, Khan said at times he finds his celebrity status difficult to handle.
“It’s hard to get used to, because I still live in a place like Bolton, I still have normal friends, the same friends.
“I’ve never changed in any way, I still live with my parents and everything, but I was driving today through this centre and I saw a big, massive poster of the Olympics with me on it, it’s embarrassing sometimes.”
Well, all said and done, Amir Khan is returning to the ring on December 15 so let’s see if he wins this time.
