In the Settings menu there are more tools for Junk e-mail management. Just click the Filters and reporting option to set junk mail filters, decide whether you’d like to report junk mail to Microsoft, or block content from all unknown senders.

Filters

Gmail brought us the services of automatically segregating the mail from a specific user or on a specific subject. The checks on the sender, receiver’s name or email address and/or the names and addresses in the CC automatically group the mails of common interest on user’s request.

Outlook has taken a stab at this functionality, though it was already present in the hotmail but on request and with a lengthier process. At Outlook.com the user can group mails with only a few clicks. Then there are folders and categories that can help in grouping the mail even in an easier manner.

To check for junk, you only need to mark it as spam and outlook will transfer all such mail from the specific sender to the Junk folder.

Folders and Categories

At Outlook.com, you can create, delete and modify folders for mail in a much easier way. There are already three folders created by the service, Junk, Sent and Draft. However, you can create as many as you want.
