Mark Cavendish to find a new home after the 2012 season?

One of the biggest speculations that is roaming around the cycling world is the exit of Mark Cavendish from Team Sky.

The British side signed a one-year contract with the cyclist and the overall winner of the Tour de France, Bradley Wiggins believes that the Manxman might leave the team for the coming seasons.

Wiggins has cited that he would be delighted to have Mark on the side for the coming season as his presence makes a huge impact in the side.

“On a personal level I have enjoyed riding with him this year and I enjoy his company, but I understand why he would probably have to leave,” the 32-year-old told Ekstra Bladet.

“I love seeing him win as much as anyone else and to see Mark back out on the Tour winning six, seven or eight different stages and challenging for the green, he probably has to go [to another team]”.

Cavendish marked his professional debut with Team Sparkasse in 2005 and spent a period of two-years with the side.

He accepted an offer from Team T-Mobile in 2006 and served the team till the end of 2011.

Mark joined the British side, Team Sky in 2012 season and helped the side with numerous victories throughout the season.

He is having an outstanding season and has filled his bag with several victories in the first half of the 2012 season.

The cyclist bagged the first overall victory of his career at the Ster ZLM Toer along with two stage victories at the race.

He claimed stages at the Tour of Qatar, the Tirreno-Adriatico, the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France 2012.

Mark is currently seen in action at the Tour of Denmark and is optimistic to bag stages at the Danish event.

“This year, the GC is totally ruled out because I’m not in good enough shape. We’re riding for Lars-Petter Nordhaug and I’m hoping to win stages,” he noted.

He achieved the 64^th overall position during the opening stage of the race and his form will be tested during the coming stages of the race.
