Expressing his disappointment at the way politicians were busy in mudslinging campaign against each other, Jamiat Uleme-e-Islam (JUI-F) Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the current political drama was beyond his understanding.

While speaking to reporters, the JUI-F chief expressed strong resentment at the way leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz were busy castigating each other. He warned that there were past examples when such situation had let resulted in destruction of institutions.

Citing the past regretful example of the way politicians celebrated when an approved Hasba Bill by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was challenged in the Supreme Court, he observed, “I wonder when the politicians will be grown up”.

He was not happy the way the government showed its readiness to legislate the law on mere advice of NGOs. He lamented that the incumbent didn’t pay litter consideration to the any recommendations passed by the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII).

Maulana Fazlur Rehman also criticized the current tussle between institutions, which was also being made more controversial.

He remarked, “We have constantly stressed, against using insulting and abusive language against the judiciary, while judiciary should also refrain from using comments and rather concentrate on its verdicts, only”.

Welcoming the Saudi Arabian endeavors of calling in the OIC’s (Organization of Islamic Council) meeting, he expressed his desire that the issue of Muslims’ genocide in Burma should also be included in the agenda.

While replying to a query about the possible coalition of religious parties, the JUI-F rejected any alliance with the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) and Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) as an alternate to (past coalition) MMA (Muttihida Mahaz-e-Ammal).

Fazlur Rehman also declared that India’s permission of Pakistan’s investment was an exclusive gesture by the neighboring country, saying it contained no international restrictions.

However the Pakistan’s trade ministry had not responded to this offer of India.
