Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky occupy gold medals – London Olympic Games

Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky occupied gold medals of the 200m backstroke and 800m freestyle in Women’s category respectively at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The 17-year-old Franklin remained comfortably ahead of her opponents and snared gold medal of the event. She continued her astonishing efforts throughout the swim and made her way to the finishing wall for gold medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 04.06
seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by Anastasia Zueva of Russian Federation, who stayed almost two body lengths apart and occupied silver medal of the discipline by touching the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 05.92 seconds.

The Russian swimmer was trailed by Elizabeth Beisel of United States, who stayed only 0.63 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and reached the medal rostrum for bronze medal as she clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 06.55 seconds.

Beisel was chased by Elizabeth Simmonds of Great Britain, who stayed slightly more than a half body length away from her former finisher and hit the finishing wall for fourth position by posting a time of 2 minutes and 07.26 seconds.

Following that, the arena enjoyed superb swim of Ledecky in the 800m event. Her gold winning effort stayed nearly four seconds faster from Mireia Belmonte Garcia of Spain, who stepped on the victory stand for silver medal by producing a time of 8 minutes
and 18.76 seconds.

The silver medallist was chased by Rebecca Adlington, who stayed one and a half body length slower from her former finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 8 minutes and 20.32 seconds for bronze medal.

Adlington was trailed by Lauren Boyle of New Zealand, who was 2.40 seconds slower from her former finisher and transpired on the finishing blockade as fourth fastest swimmer with an effort of 8 minutes and 22.72 seconds.

Furthermore, the arena appreciated commendable efforts of all participants in their respective events while the position holders will receive medals and accolades for their notable effort at the medal ceremony of the event.
