Celebs flock away to offer condolences for the tragedy that happened to Gary and Dawn Barlow

Celebrity friends of Gary Barlow and his wife Dawn have rushed to offer their condolences to the couple, following the tragic news that their daughter Poppy was delivered stillborn.

Gary spoke of the couple’s heartbreak at the loss of their daughter yesterday, in an official statement which said: “Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we’ve lost our baby. Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4th in London.

“Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We’d ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected.”

It is thought that the tragedy happened just two weeks before Dawn’s due date.

After the terrible news emerged yesterday, friends of the couple rushed to offer their sympathies. Tulisa Contostavlos, who is a judge alongside Gary on The X Factor, Tweeted: “My heart and love goes out to Gary and his family xx.”

Peter Andre wrote: “So incredibly sorry to hear about Gary Barlow and family. My families thoughts are with you all.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber also took to Twitter to offer his condolences, writing: “Dearest Dawn & Gary, Madeleine & I are devastated about news of Poppy. Our thoughts & prayers are with you and your family. @GBarlowOfficial.”

Amanda Holden Tweeted: “My heart and love goes out to Gary and his family xx.”

The JLS boys also offered their sympathies, writing on Twitter: “My thoughts are with Gary Barlow and his family, such terrible news.”

And Frankie Cocozza, who Gary mentored on last year’s X Factor,also said: “My thoughts are with Gary Barlow and his family, such terrible news.”

Gary and Dawn already have three children together – Daniel who is 11, nine-year-old Emily and three-year-old Daisy.

The couple announced the news that they were expecting a fourth child in February, before Gary followed up with a Tweet in April that said: "I have more news …..There’s gonna be another Girl in the Barlow household ! (sic)".

In June, he crowned Celebrity Dad of the Year, telling fans:  "I’ve been waiting for it for a long time.

"My kids are really excited and I don’t think they can quite believe it.

"Being a dad is a really important part of my life and it means a lot to have won this award."

The 41-year-old star is due to perform with his Take That band-mates at Sunday’s Olympics closing ceremony, but it is not known yet whether or not he will cancel his appearance.
