Kelsey Floyd and Megan Romano dominate swimming events –
US Open Swimming Championships

Kelsey Floyd and Megan Romano dominated the playoffs of Women’s 200m butterfly and Women’s 100m freestyle at the 2012 US Open Swimming Championships.

Floyd devastated hopes of her opponents in the distant butterfly discipline as she gathered gold medal of the event. She proved her mettle for top spot on the podium by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 08.74 seconds.

Her title claiming effort remained 0.17 seconds ahead of Jasmine Tosky, who followed her on the victory stand for second position by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 08.91 seconds.

Tosky was chased by Kimberly Vandenberg of New York Athletics, who remained two body lengths away from her preceding swimmer and occupied bronze medal of the discipline by reporting an effort of 2 minutes and 10.93 seconds.

The bronze medallist was followed by Emma Nunn of NOVA of Virginia, who stayed considerably slower and settled on the finishing end for fourth best finisher with a timing of 2 minutes and 12.70 seconds.

Afterwards, the audience witnessed nerve-wrecking form of Romano in the Women’s 100m discipline. With her unrelenting efforts, Romano stayed considerably ahead of her opponents throughout the discipline and surfaced on the finishing wall for the title by
producing a time of 53.92 seconds.

The champion was followed by Erika Erndl of T2 Aquatics, who made her way into the playoff as top fastest swimmer, but failed to handle Romano’s effort in the final round and ended second with an effort of 54.79 seconds.

Erndl was traced by Sandrine Mainville of Canada, who remained almost one body length apart and transpired on the victory stand for bronze medal by reporting a time of 55.48 seconds.

Similarly, fourth position of the race was secured by Shayna Jack of Australia, who remained 0.06 seconds apart and settled on the finishing blockade as fourth position holder with an effort of 55.54 seconds.

Furthermore, the winners received awards and accolades for their notable efforts in the events at the medal distribution ceremony after the session while the arena applauded for notable efforts of all swimmers.
