He said this while addressing a gathering after inspecting the Thar coal project. He further said that he would accept the decision of the people.
Commenting on the upcoming general elections, the Prime Minister said that the PPP wanted to hold free and fair elections in the country regardless of what others wanted. He said, “No one understands politics better than the PPP.”
Earlier, while talking about the Thar coal project in context of the ongoing energy crisis in the country, the PM said that this project alone can play a vital role in energy production and overcome the power crisis in the country.
Yesterday (Wednesday) the Supreme Court issued a show-cause notice for contempt of court to Prime Minister Ashraf for failing to implement its orders on the NRO implementation case and for not writing the letter to Swiss authorities

Govt. is planning to build Coal power Plants near Jamshoro. It is not advisable to build coal fired power plants close to river Indus. Coal fired power plants are by far the largest source of fly ash and mercury pollution falls into close by river where it builds up in fish. People who routinely eat mercury-polluted fish can suffer brain damage and nervous system disorders, particularly young children. Fly ash causes severe problems, like lowered crop yield, respiratory disorders in humans and livestock, and contamination of groundwater with toxic salts and metallic contents.
