Vampire Diaries cast members congratulate Gabby Douglas for winning the Olympic gold medal
Thursday, August 9th, 2012 4:50:36 by Irfan Khokhar16-year old Virginia Beach native Gabby Douglas entered the 2012 London Games with a firm ambition of victory and settled for women’s gymnastics all-around gold medal. It was a like a dreaming coming true for the teenager.
Shortly after she got hold of the Olympic gold medal, the cast of the famous television series
the Vampire Diaries recorded a congratulatory video message, which was especially addressed to the athlete. Douglas was totally overjoyed with the 35-second video clip taped by Vampire Diaries cast, which includes Ian Somerhalder who is reportedly
the "celebrity crush” of Douglas.
Somerhalder is 33-year old actor, who plays one-half of the bloodsucking Salvatore brothers.
Other Vampire Diaries stars featured in the video include main character Nina Dobrev, 23, Paul Wesley, 30, Michael Trevino, 27, and Claire Holt, 24. In addition to the congratulation message, Somehalder even blew Douglas a kiss!
Furthermore, he also tweeted about Douglas’ achievement and wished her luck.
"We’d like to congratulate you and the U.S. Women’s team on your gold medal! Go Team USA!" Somerhalder tweeted August 2.
Likewise, Nina Dobrev also tweeted in the honour of Douglas.
Somerhalder’s costar and girlfriend, Dobrev, added: "Congrats Gabby! You killed it at the Olympics — gold medal! Keep smiling girl!"
