Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan says no death threat made to Imran Khan
Thursday, August 9th, 2012 3:04:58 by Faisal FarooqIn quite a shocking development, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Wednesday denied reports in the media that they had threatened to kill Imran Khan if he came to Waziristan for peach march.
TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan while talking to the media said he was misquoted in an interview to a foreign news agency.
Replying to a query about Imran Khan’s visit to Waziristan he replied that the TTP Shura would decide on the course of action, saying that the TTP had no sympathy for Imran Khan nor did they need his compassion.
He further said that the cricketer-turned-politician claimed to be a liberal and they considered liberals as infidels.
Earlier, Associated Press quoting TTP spokesperson Ahsanullah Ehsan said that militants would attack the former cricketer, who is a greatest opponent of war against terror, because he called himself a liberal.
The threat was a surprise for everyone as the PTI chief and TTP share their opposition to US spy attacks in the tribal belt.
It is vital to mention here that the former captain has demonstrated his religiosity publicly, praying in front of the crowd at his rallies and public gathering.
The spokesperson was of the opinion that they didn’t want the assistance of the PTI in opposing the campaign of drone strikes.
He asserted, “We will not accept help or sympathy from any infidel. We can fight on our own with the help of God”.
The cricketer-turned-politician, earlier in July, had announced to lead thousands of people in a march to Waziristan in September to record protest against the US attacks.
