Interior Minister sees conspiracy behind issuing 250 visas to Hindu pilgrims
Friday, August 10th, 2012 11:42:26 by Faisal FarooqThe government has decided to beef up security for religious minorities after reports emerged that a large-scale migration of Hindu families to India was on the cards due to security concerns.
Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik took notice of large-scale migration of Hindu families to India, saying visas had been issued to 250 Hindus families under a conspiracy without checking facts.
Replying to a question about migration of 60 Hindu families to India from Balochistan and Sindh after complaining that their shops were destroyed, houses raided and women forced to convert to Islam.
According to the some media reports, as many as 90 people belonging to Hindu community of Sindh migrated to India on Wednesday.
Another 52 Hindu families have also reportedly migrated to neighboring country from the same area due to security concerns.
While speaking to a private TV channel, the interior minister said the government had stopped the Hindus of Jacobabad from leaving for New Delhi.
He remarked, “They would be allowed to leave after complete verification. The Indian High Commission should say why it had issued visas to them.”
He said that it was propaganda and that the people were going on a pilgrimage, adding that the Indian High Commission had been asked to explain why it issued visas to 250 Hindu citizens of Pakistan.
The minister also directed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to look into the matter and submit a report at the earliest.
While replying to a query about Balochistan, Rehman Malik said that the law and order situation has improved in the province and violence has seen a respite.
The impasse between the government and judiciary should end and that a compromise will have to be worked out, he added.
The minister made it clear that they respect the judiciary. He added, “We are the ones who restored the judiciary, so how can we take any action against them?”

Can someone request the honorable minister for interior to make some sense for a change. I am a Pakistani Muslim and I find it ridiculous how Mr Malik has responded to the situation, not a first though. Instead of curbing the causes of the migration he is hell bent on persecuting the poor hindu brethren that is already victimized like every other minority in this country. I cant imagine Pakistan refusing visa to any muslim wanting to run away from a similar situation in India. Moreover, why such surprise if the Hindu community did what every muslim sunni [ the majority in the country with 78% populace ] is trying so hard to do. That is run away from this country. Only because the enviornment in this country created by the government of the not so honorable minister of interior is threatening for EVERYONE except for corrupt ministers n elites like himself that fly in choppers n drive in bulletproof cars, entirely unaware of the situation in the crime-infested dark-unfacilitated illetrate-injust neighbourhoods borne out of their competence in running this gifted country.
ITS TOTAL LYING HINDU COMMUNITY R MORE SAFE IN PAKISTAN RATHER THEN MUSLIM COMMUNITY IN INDIA
C HOW THEY TREAT MUSLIM PUPILS IN AASAM IN ANDHRA PERDESH AND WHAT THEY DID WITH BABRI MASJID WHICH
THEY CONVERT IN TO THEIR TEMPLE DID U C THIS KIND OF ANY EXAMPLE IN PAKISTAN ? I BELIVE ITS CONSPIRACY AGAINST PAKISTAN & MUSLIM COMMUNITY .
i dont agree with Dr.Syed, as this is our country indeed if in any circumstances we have to live in Pakistan and none to run away i am sorry to say that you doctors are involved in taking a large number of fees from the poor patient,s and try to loot them until and unless a you doctors take out a single penny from their pockets, in the name of private clinics, you might be feeling insecure due to a large amount of money that you have looted from the poor people of Pakistan i would say rather even the government is corrupt even it is not as hard as IRAQ OR SYRIA, EVEN IN JAPAN AND AMERICA crimes are at the high peak so why they dont run away from their own country i would say DR.please review your ideas before writing it down on the board a person who is corrupt try to run away form Pakistan think once again DOCTOR.
i totally agree with Dr Syed. he has said it all . i dont need to add anything further in his comments except GOVN OF PAK PLS COME TO UR SENSES.
