Karachi police arrests five alleged extortionists
Sunday, August 12th, 2012 1:55:15 by Fayyaz YaseenKarachi: (Saturday, August 11, 2012) Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Karachi police has arrested five alleged extortionists and has also recovered weapons including a hand grenade from their possession here on Saturday.
Sharing details of their operations which led to the stated success in a press conference, SIU Chief SSP Khurram Waris said that four Kalashnikovs, two TT, one 9MM and one hand grenade were recovered from arrested accused Muhammad
Yousuf alias Lahoti, Muhammad Shahid, Tahir Mehmood, Shehzad Khaskheli and Abdur Rehman Baloch.
He further said that the accused were involved in more than 25 incidents of extortions and robberies in the old city area.
Shehzad Khaskheli, one of the accused, was also reported to be involved in injuring Rangers person Muhammad Ali and sub-inspector Muhammad Siddique, told the SSP.
