Allie Szekely and Steven Stumph win swimming titles – Speedo Junior National Championships

Allie Szekely and Steven Stumph win swimming titles of 200m breaststroke in Women and Men’s category respectively at the 2012 Speedo Junior National Championships.

Szekely dominated the distant breaststroke discipline in Women’s corner as she showed her eagerness for the crown of the discipline. Her tremendous effort placed her prominently ahead of her rivals and she made her way to the podium for gold medal by touching
the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 26.35 seconds.

The gold medallist was tailed by Bethany Leap, who suffered a loss of almost seven seconds and posted a time of 2 minutes and 33.78 seconds for second position.

The 16-year-old Leap was traced by Abigail Fisher, who remained nearly 0.70 seconds slower from her former finisher and settled on the wall as third fastest swimmer by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 34.55 seconds.

Fourth fastest spot of the race was secured by Katherine Drabot, who stayed one body length behind and emerged on the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 35.41 seconds.

Afterwards, Stumph met expectations of his supporters by clinching gold medal of the event. With his persistent efforts, Stumph stayed substantially ahead of his closest opponent and touched the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 15.24 seconds for the crown
of the event.

His alluring pace remained 1.93 seconds faster from Gage Crosby, who made his way to the finishing blockade for second position as he ended his swim in a time 2 minutes and 17.17 seconds.

The second position holder was followed by Nicholas Hatanaka, who remained 0.72 seconds behind and secured bronze medal of the event by producing a time of 2 minutes and 17.89 seconds.

Fourth fastest spot of the discipline was chased by Eric Holden, who stayed 0.45 seconds behind and posted a time of 2 minutes and 18.34 seconds.

In addition, the arena appreciated notable sprints of all participants while the position holders were called upon the medal rostrum for awards and accolades at the medal ceremony of the event.
