KESC lift RLFA title
Wednesday, August 15th, 2012 4:03:30 by Shahrukh SohailThe Karachi Electric Supply Company was able to beat PIA in the final, as they lifted their first silverware of the year.
Goals from Mohammad Rasool and Aabid Ghafoor secured the win for KESC and according to captain Essa, the victory will be a major morale booster before the Premier League.
“It was a fine victory as both the teams played really well. The victory is a morale-booster for us ahead of the Premier League and I believe that we will take a nice start in the marathon starting next month.”
The game also had some rowdy incidents, as PIA’s goal was disallowed, but the match continued with good sportsmanship from both sides.
“It was a hundred percent goal which was disallowed. If a referee once gives the goal even if it is wrong he should not backtrack. The referee reversed his decision after he was pressurized by KESC players,” said PIA boss Shamim.
“It was sad that we lost the match. I did not want to disturb the show and so told my players to resume it after the incident but still I am not happy with what happened. PIA looked awesome during the final moments but we kept our nerves and maintained the
lead,” added KESC coach Zabe Khan.
