PTI to support Supreme Court: Says Imran
Wednesday, August 15th, 2012 10:10:55 by Fayyaz YaseenLahore: (Wednesday, August 15, 2012) Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), Imran Khan said here today that he had nothing to do with the Charter of Democracy and that his party will stand with the Constitution and the Supreme
Court of Pakistan.
Imran, who was talking to the journalists, said that the opposition feared if cases were reopened against President Zardari, theirs would be the next turn.
Saying that the Tehreek-e-Insaaf stood with the Constitution and Supreme Court, Imran added, “The Charter of Democracy was agreed between two parties and that we have no connection with it.”
Imran was of the view that an ‘independent judiciary’ is a blessing for the country and called upon the media to support it.
Hinting towards a possible deal between the PPP and PML-N, Imran asked the government as to why it did not prosecute Nawaz Sharif.
He also said that the caretaker set up should be transparent.
