Santo Condorelli and Quinn Carrozza win gold medals – Speedo Junior National Championships

Santo Condorelli and Quinn Carrozza win gold medals in the events of Men’s 100m freestyle and Women’s 200m backstroke respectively at the 2012 Speedo Junior National Championships.

Condorelli remained just an inch ahead of his following rival and made his way to the finishing blockade for first position with a timing of 50.92 seconds.

The champion was chased by Caeleb Dressel, who stayed only 0.04 seconds slower and hit the finishing wall for second position with an effort of 50.96 seconds.

Following that, the audience witnessed gruelling efforts of Sven Campbell, who stayed just 0.01 seconds behind and secured bronze medal of the race in a time of 50.97 seconds.

Campbell was followed by John Murray, who was only 0.03 seconds apart and secured fourth best spot of the discipline by reporting a time of 51.00 seconds.

Fifth position of the race was obtained by Michael Domagala, who remained 0.14 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and posted a time of 51.14 seconds.

Afterwards the audience witnessed gruelling efforts of Carrozza in the Women’s 200m discipline. She stayed in a considerable lead over her opponents throughout the discipline and tapped the finishing wall for gold medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 11.92
seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by Alexandra Malazdrewicz, who remained 1.25 seconds behind and stepped on the medal rostrum for silver medal by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 13.17 seconds.

Malazdrewicz was chased by Kathryn Rowe, who remained nearly full body length behind and occupied third position of the event by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 14.00 seconds.

Rowe was followed by Courtney Mykkanen, who stayed 0.57 seconds slower and settled on the finishing end as fourth fastest swimmer by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 14.57 seconds.

Mykkanen remained half body length slower from her subsequent swimmer, Kacey Oberlander, who proved her eligibility for fifth fastest spot of the event by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 15.13 seconds.

Furthermore, the session came to an end after the completion of all events while the position holders received medals.
