Tine Baun, the top female shuttler from Denmark, proved her supremacy on court as she played with impressive precision and easily registered a comprehensive victory over Kamila Augustyn of Poland in Women’s Singles Group G contest at the Olympic Games 2012
on July 30, in London.
The in-form Baun, who has been poisoned at number seven in Women’s Singles world rankings, played with wonderful control in her shots and easily gave a severe lesson to her un-seeded Polish rival by ending up the match in a fabulous fashion.
The higher ranked Baun played remarkable badminton as she was focused and composed on court and remained successful in easily finishing off the match in straight sets with a wonderful difference on the score board.
On the other hand, the un-seeded Kamila, failed to show a strong resistance as she could not escape from the punishing treatment of her higher ranked Danish opponent and lost the match without taking any game.
Baun showed a strong performance in opening set of the match by playing attacking badminton and set up an incredible lead on score board until the end of first half.
Kamila also tried her best to match the pace of rallies after the break but she could not maintain her balance at the base line and eventually remained trailing on score board.
In the meanwhile, Baun was in complete control as she executed powerful smashes and perfect drives which helped her top end up the opening set with a wonderful margin of 21-11.
In the following game, Baun continued her killing run on court as she showed no mercy to her rival and took no time in setting up a superb lead at the initial stage.
Baun remained consistent in her positive play and again grabbed a remarkable lead on score board until the mid-game interval.
The in-form Danish shuttler continued her smooth ride after the interval and earned points by manipulating all weaknesses of her Polish opponent while remaining focused in the game. She ended up the second game with an incredible margin of 21-6
The aggressive and composed Baun remained successful in winning this straight set battle with a smashing 21-11 and 21-6 score on the board.
