Sunday, August 19th, 2012 1:00:50 by Faisal FarooqIn the third part of the four-part series, we will briefly discuss the beauty of Nanga Parbat Base Camp, Taxila and Makran Coast.
Nanga Parbat Base Camp (Fairy Meadows)
Nanga Parbat Base Camp is a one day walk from fairy meadows and you follow the narrow path along the Raikot glacier and after turning the valley it is thought by the old hands to be the best view.
The stunning Fairy Meadows are situated close to the base camp with a wonderful view of the great peak, rising high above all. This is the best view of this fantastic valley.
The journey itself is a great adventure and also includes the most exciting jeep ride.
Nanga Parbat is also known as the killer mountain as it has killed more mountaineers than any other mountain. It literally means the naked mountains as not much snow stays on top the steep rocky slopes.
Taxila
Taxila is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world and at one time it was the center of Buddhism, world’s famous Gandhara sculpture and the center of learning and culture.
This is the land, which attracted Alexander the Great from Macedonia in 326 B.C., with whom the influence of Greek culture came to this part of the world.
Exploring Taxila is a multi-dimensional experience. The richness and variety of the famed Gandhara sculpture will attract you.
There are many images of Buddha, in stone and stucco and numerous panels depicting all the important stages of the great sage’s life, times of one of the world’s most impressive men of peace Gautama Buddha.
Makran Coast
Makran Coast, the semi-desert coastal strip is located in the South of Sindh, along the coast of the Arabian Sean and the Gulf of Oman.
Having most splendid beaches in the world, this is thinly populated area. The pure beauty of the place makes it all valuable in the night. The main coastal town Gwadar, is being urbanized one of the major ports, and soon, the area will be developed enough to become a perfect place for tourists.
There is amazing natural beauty of the desert surrounded the coastal highway and the road carried through the desert and the humongous mountains.
With picturesque view of the long unspoiled golden sunny beaches of Balochistan along the Coastline makes the journey even more charming.
