Airblue Crash; after two years
Monday, August 20th, 2012 2:00:18 by Faisal FarooqAfter passage of two years, the families of the victim of the Airblue crash have yet to be informed an appropriate reason of the incident.
The torment and the agony of suspense as to what was the reality still continue. Time doesn’t matter even after passage of two years but knowing what caused the crash does.
In the meantime, the families of the victims of Bhoja Airplane crash also continue to suffer.
Experts believe that there are five stages of grief which are a part of the framework that makes up our learning to live with the ones that we lost.
These include denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
However, this model is not a linear timeline in grief and the suffering families of both the plane crashes continue to hopscotch between the stages.
After a long legal battle, a truncated and misleading report saw the light of the day.
The honorable Peshawar High Court (PHC) while terming it incomplete and inconclusive and full of errors called the authorities to reproduce if after fixing major flaws.
Interestingly, the report neither has evidence of any claim nor carries any annexure of transcripts of vital evidence as recordings of the Cockpit Voice Recorder and the Black Box.
There are great admiration and commandment for the PHC for timely action and decisions. Pakistan is quite different with rest of the world in dealing with such cases.
The French government found the black box of Air France flight 447, which crashed in the Pacific Ocean over two years ago killing all 228 people on board, from the deep sea bed after a search spanning 23 months and costing about $40 million.
The relatives of victims afterward were gathered and briefed about the exact reasons for the crash.
The relatives of the victims deserve to know the reality whatever the reasons for the Airblue Bhoja plane crashes.
Without any doubt, aviation safety can only be served by truths rather by fantasy or imaginary reports speculations.
Such disasters will continue to happen unless the truth is known and suitable measures are taken for air safety.
Though these were very expensive lessons, we should open our eyes after the two plane crashes.
