Will Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled film overshadow Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’?
Tuesday, August 21st, 2012 1:05:32 by Imran Shaukat KhanSalman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, directed by Yash Chopra, has set many new records at the box office. The film opened to pack houses on the Independence Day and broke all records by collecting an amount of over Rs 30 crore on day 1 of its release.
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Ra.One’, which was released last year, had the record of highest any day collection whereas Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Agneepath’, which was released earlier this year, held the record of the biggest opening day ever. However, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has put aside all these records.
“Shahrukh had the record of highest collections for any day with RA.ONE while Hrithik had the biggest opening day ever with AGNEEPATH. Both of them have been surpassed by many crores with EK THA TIGER opening so phenomenally well,” informs an industry insider.
Now, all eye are set to see whether if Salman Khan’s archrival Shah Rukh Khan, who is also known as the King of Bollywood, will overshadow ‘Ek Tha Tiger’s’ box office performance or not.
Shah Rukh is working with Yash Chopra as well and yet again it is Salman’s ex-flame Katrina Kaif, who is playing the female lead.
The star maker Chopra is known best for making romantic films and Shah Rukh is the best performer out there, when it comes to romance.
The untitled musical-film has created an enormous hype among the audiences because with this movie Chopra has returned to the romantic genre after a long gap of 8 years.
Recently, YRJ released a teaser of the film on the internet but it was yet without any title, something which has happened for the first time in the history of Hindi cinema. People have now become anxious to know the title of the movie. Nevertheless, Chopra perhaps wants them to wait a bit more.
Shah Rukh Khan’s starrer will hit the cinemas on Diwali (November 13), which means it will also have bright chances of doing an excellent business at the box office.
Let’s see if the movie competes or overshadows ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, which has become a landmark film for Salman Khan.

Not a chance! SRK’s days are over. And you wrote in the first sentence: “directed by Yash Chopra”. Ek tha Tiger wasn’t even produced by Yash Chopra, but Aditya Chopra. LOL.
whatever film it is if it has sharukh khan and katrina kaif then it sucks.
Yes the new film by Srk-Yash will break all the records…
