Tuesday, August 21st, 2012 3:00:30 by Faisal FarooqThis article is a continuation of three-part series, in which the writer tries to explain ten most common habits of Pakistanis. In the second installment of this article, he describes Lying habit, Unwanted Suggestions and Over-smartness of people.
Lying habit
In all, we love to lie whether it is a big fat lie which is said on daily basis by our politician, bureaucrats and our media persons or small thing kids lie to their parents. We, the common people, are also not far behind in such practices.
Even though there are no biggies in such lies. For instance, we come with a bogus excuse after taking a day off from office. Common lie among us is about hanging out with friends but when our parents inquire, we come up with a usual lie, combined study.
Apparently, this is our inborn nature and it is also a big lie when someone says he doesn’t make such practices.
Unwanted Suggestions
Another common trait among us is giving unwanted suggestions. We love to give our input on every matter even sometimes not required.
We are always ready to offer unsolicited advices as soon one share their problems regarding their life, bad health, relationships or careers. Rather offering empathy after listening there problems, we become a counsel abruptly.
Over-smartness
Although we are not as smart we depict, we still to be over efficient on any given opportunity. The commoners are not excluded from this category. If someone lost while finding any address and God forbid if s/he bumped to any smarty-pants, they will be guided nowhere near to their destinations.
The smarty-pants even has no idea of this place but will guide to the person instead of accepting it blatantly that they have no idea. The person searching for address moves round and round to the same point from where he started the search.
Likewise, many people flaunt to have a thorough knowledge by indulging into great arguments on each matter. However, it’s all fringe information that is basically extracted from many renowned political talk shows or famous blogs or tweets.
Although they don’t want to mislead anyone, it is just a fear of not being called unintelligent and unaware. We just play it safe instead of owning our incompetency.
