Veena Malik says entertainers have the right to discuss religion!
Tuesday, August 21st, 2012 10:17:51 by Imran Shaukat KhanThe controversial queen Veena Malik is hosting a Ramadan show ‘Astaghfar’ on ‘Hero TV’ even when most of the people in the country don’t want her to host at all. However, the 28-year-old, who has always been in the news for wrong reasons, believes that entertainers have the right to discuss religion and they should be kept separate.
Veena Malik rose to fame during her stint in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house in India after she started an affair with actor Ashmit Patel during her stint. Later on she created a storm by appearing semi-nude on the cover page of a popular men’s magazine ‘FHM India’. She also had an ISI tattoo on her left shoulder.
The news created a stir across the border. So much so that Veena’s own father disowned her and she started getting death threats from the people of her country.
This wasn’t the end since she did a lot of other things in the country to embarrass her country. Therefore her presence on a religious show was criticized much by the Pakistani nation.
The outcry among the nation was so much that the production team of ‘Hero TV’ had to drop Veena from the show. The channel even apologized to the people but after hardly a week they owner of ‘Hero TV’ brought Veena back on the show, reasoning the people have accepted her whereas nothing like this ever happened.
Perhaps this is a reason why the actress has gained much confidence.
While sharing her thoughts during an exclusive interview on ‘Express News’ with Munizae Jahangir in New Delhi, Veena was told that she has not been liked by the ‘Maulvis’ of her country.
In reply to the question, Veena lashed out at the ‘Maulvis’ and said that they simply portray themselves as some sort of heroes, wearing gaudy clothes and makeup, entertaining viewers.
She further added that religion is a very beautiful thing and everyone, no matter anywhere in the world, has the right to learn about their religion.
Well, all said and done, these statements from Veena Malik sound pretty stupid because on one side she is trying to be religious and on the other side she is participating in the Kannada remake of the film ‘Dirty Picture’, in which she is playing role of a late southern sex siren Silk Smitha.
