Frederike Johanna Heemskerk and Leonardo Alves Santos Fim win gold medals – Jose Finkel Trophy

Frederike Johanna Heemskerk and Leonardo Alves Santos Fim won gold medal of the 200m backstroke in Women and Men’s corner at the 2012 Jose Finkel Trophy.

Heemskerk dominated the playoff of the discipline and proved her mettle for gold medal of the discipline. She continued her nerve-wrecking pace throughout the 200m discipline and proved her mettle for gold medal of the discipline by producing a time of 2
minutes and 04.72 seconds.

The champion was trailed by Joanna Maranhao, who stayed nearly four seconds apart and secured silver medal of the discipline by producing a time of 2 minutes and 08.34 seconds.

Third position of the race was secured by Ana Carolina Alves de Azambuja, who stayed 3.08 seconds slower from her former finisher and stepped on the medal rostrum with a timing of 2 minutes and 11.42 seconds.

Subsequently, Azambuja was chased by Fabiola Pulga Molina, who stayed only 0.16 seconds slower from securing the podium for bronze medal and settled on the wall as fourth fastest swimmer with a timing of 2 minutes and 11.58 seconds.

Afterwards, Fim captured the same in Men’s equivalent event. With his splendid pace, he remained just a touch ahead of subsequent competitor and clocked a time of 1 minute and 53.99 seconds for gold medal.

His title claiming effort remained 0.11 seconds faster from Leonardo de Deus, who secured silver medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 54.10 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Fernando Ernesto Pires Do, who remained just 0.21 seconds slower and hit the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 54.31 seconds for bronze medal.

Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Fabio Arikawa Santi, who stayed only 0.24 seconds slower and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 54.55 seconds.

Santi was trailed by Lucas Salatta, who was 0.89 seconds slower and secured fifth fastest spot of the discipline by submitting an effort of 1 minute and 55.44 seconds.

Furthermore, the winners received accolades after the session.
