Restaurant tales: Tuscany Courtyard – A touch of Italian class
Thursday, August 23rd, 2012 6:21:12 by Shahrukh SohailFamed over the internet for their grandeur and replica of a seemingly accurate Sicilian style veranda, me and a couple of friends decided to sample the delicacies at Islamabad’s latest trendsetter – Tuscany Courtyard.
Spurred on by the positive reviews we read, Iftari with a sumptuous dinner was our plan as we headed to F-7, where the eatery is located.
Surprisingly the parking was ample and the attendants active. We were quickly ushered to seats, as we gazed at the gorgeous yet simple design that surrounded the lavish house.
Following a brief Azan, an Iftari platter was served containing the usual samosas, pakoras and sandwiches alongside the customary helping of dates.
The food was at best average, but the pièce de résistance was the buffet dinner.
With taste buds tingling by the earlier serving, we headed towards the assortment of Mediterranean and Italian dishes on display, though slightly disappointed by the lack of variety.
As a connoisseur of foreign foods, I had a field day, filling up my plate with decadents items such as the subtle yet spicy Beef Shreddings with Chilli, Rice, the not-so-original Chicken Steaks and a healthy round of grilled vegetables.
Upon returning we settled for soft drinks, while the waiters brought us the highlight of the night.
Thin crust, almost true Neapolitan Pizzas that were worth every bite truly lit up the atmosphere, which was followed by an array of deserts that involved a lot of chocolate for me!
All in all, it was a decent experience, but the money at almost Rs. 1500 per person was not really worth the expensive items we had to pay for.
Rating: 7/10
Recommendation: Well if you have a taste for true Pizzas, then this just might be the place for you. But going on someone’s treat is a much better option than paying for it yourself at Tuscany.
