The Election Confusion

General elections in Pakistan are around the corner, and this is perhaps the first time that stung by the ‘best revenge’ at the hand of democracy, the people of the country are observing a ‘democratic’ setup completing its term in the office.

This apparent success, on the basis of which there is a lot of clamor on part of the ruling alliance, has cost the country unprecedented external and internal debts, a faltering economy, deteriorated law and order situation, unsecure borders and a morally
and ethically poorer society.

Observing from a non-partisan lens, one would find that a government that came into power in the name of the people hasn’t left any stone unmoved to snatch away even last of the hopes of this nation. A person had never witnessed this level of corruption
in the history of the country, nor was inflation this unbridled. However, those who have caused this havoc still claim to be the savior of the nation. And they are looking forward to have another term in the office on the basis of their past performance.

There is no doubt in the fact that current dismal situation of the country has three distinct culprits responsible for it. The first and top most is the PPP, the second one are the political parties who have always strengthened its hands in all the difficult
crisis and the last one is the toothless opposition who in reality, has always been hands in gloves with the government and never pressurize it to mind its business and to make real efforts for the welfare of the people.

Now with having elections just around the corner, all these culprits are trying their best to spread confusion among the people so that they can grab their offices for one more term and can loot and plunder rest of the resources that this country is still
left with. However, it will not be this easy this time around. According to a famous quote, no one can fool all the people all the time, and the common conscience of the people will finally come in to play and they will be elect the real leader will actually
strive to address their vows.
