Frederike Johanna Heemskerk and Fernando Ernesto Pires Do win gold medals of 200m freestyle in Women and Men’s corner respectively at the 2012 Jose Finkel Trophy.
Heemskerk remained significantly ahead of her closest challenger throughout the race and stepped on the medal rostrum for gold medal with a timing of 1 minute and 55.43 seconds.
Her effort remained 1.60 seconds faster from Kelly Marie Subbins, who followed her on the victory stand for second position by producing a time of 1 minute and 57.03 seconds.
The second position holder was trailed by Jessica Bruin Cavalheiro, who stayed one body length away from her former finisher and secured bronze medal of the event by submitting a time of 1 minute and 58.03 seconds.
The third position holder was traced by Manuella Lyrio, who remained 0.03 seconds slower from overpowering her foregoing finisher and settled on the wall as fourth fastest swimmer by reporting an effort of 1 minute and 58.06 seconds.
Afterwards, the audience enjoyed laudable efforts of Pires Do in the Men’s equivalent event. With his impeccable efforts, Pires Do remained only a stroke ahead of his toughest challenger and tapped the wall for first position with a timing of 1 minute and
44.92 seconds.
The champion was trailed by Nicolas Cesar Oliveira, who remained 0.24 seconds slower and hit the finishing blockade with an effort of 1 minute and 45.16 seconds.
The silver medallist was chased by Vinicius Rocha Waked, who was 0.22 seconds behind and occupied bronze medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 45.38 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the event was secured by Joao B de Lucca, who remained 0.59 seconds slower from upsetting his foregoing finisher and settled on the finishing blockade by posting a time of 1 minute and 45.97 seconds.
Lucca was chased by Andre Schultz, who stayed more than a half body length behind and submitted an effort of 1 minute and 46.74 seconds for fifth position.
In addition, the position holders received medals after the completion of session.
