Olympic Games 2012: Lin Dan registers a comprehensive victory over Lee Hyun Il in semi-final clash

3, at Wembley Indoor Arena, London.
The World Number One Lin, who was defending champion at Olympics, played impressive badminton and did not spare any chance for his Korean opponent at any stage and eventually won the battle in a dominating manner.
The second seeded Lin was in complete control as he dictated the pace of rallies throughout the contest and gave a severe lesson to the World Number 8 Lee Hyun by ending up the contest in a completely commanding fashion.
On the other hand, Lee Hyun was completely helpless against the fast and power play of his Chinese opponent as he had no answer to the positive play of Lin and lost the match without showing his brilliance.
The Korean player received a shocking treatment from the Chinese shuttler who paced up rallies from the opening points and took a wonderful lead until the mid-game interval.
After the one-minute break, the impressive Lin remained confident on court and he did not let his opponent to dominate the pace at any stage and maintained the tremendous gap on score board.
The higher ranked Chinese shuttler continued his power play without showing any respect to his rival and eventually took the set with a smashing margin of 21-12.
In the second set, the Korean shuttler played good badminton in opening rallies by showing a little aggression.
Nevertheless, the Chinese hero put in more power into his shots at the ending stage of opening half and took a reasonable lead on score board.
Lin played killing badminton after the mid-game interval by taking the bird early and executed well directed mashes in right areas which helped him to finish off the set with a one-sided 21-10 margin on the board.
The ruling World Champion Lin emerged as the winner in this semi-final clash against Lee Hyun with a lopsided score of 21-12 and 21-10.
