Singapore International Series: Sho Zeniya overpowers Beng Hong Kuan in Men’s Singles round-of-16

International Series 2012 on August 16, in Singapore.
The 10th seeded Zeniya, who showed wonderful performance in all of his matches in the event, continued his killing run and defeated his higher ranked Malaysian challenger in an emphatic manner.
The in-form Japanese player employed all of his skills on court and remained successful in finishing off the winning streak of his Malaysian rival by winning the match in straight games in a dominating fashion.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Beng Hong also tried to put up strong show and remained close to his Japanese opponent on score board but failed to live up to expectations in ending points and lost the match to Zeniya without proving his worth.
Both shuttlers put in their maximum effort in the opening set to push each other on back foot but none of them could get a clear position in the game.
They remained at the same level while playing fast badminton and also remained close until the mid-game interval.
The Japanese shuttler geared up his speed at net after the break and managed to create a little pressure on his Malaysian opponent who failed to dictate the pace of rallies at the concluding points.
The impressive Zeniya played with impressive speed in the ending points of opening game and managed to win it with a tight margin of 21-19.
Beng Hong played good badminton in the opening points of second set and remained neck-to-neck against his rival until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, the aggressive Zeniya took over the control and started to inject more power into his shots by playing fast and attacking badminton.
The planned and positive play of Zeniya helped him to snatch the second set from his rival with a tight 21-19 margin on the score board.
The Lower ranked Japanese shuttler proved his worth in the pre-quarter-final battle in straight games with a narrow margin of 21-19 and 21-19.
