By elections: Polling ends at KP-70
Tuesday, August 28th, 2012 8:30:43 by Fayyaz YaseenBannu: The polling for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly seat for constituency KP-70, Bannu, has ended. According to the details, the by-polls officials are currently counting the votes casted towards all the contestants.
According to the unofficial results of polling station 50, Irfanullah Durrani of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is leading after obtaining 683 votes. In response to Durrani, Rehmatullah Khan, the independent candidate has only got 10 votes.
The provincial assembly seat for constituency KP-70 fell vacant after the sudden death of Ziad Akram Durrani.
Irfanullah Durrani, the JUI-F candidate is taking part in the by-polls by representing the only political party as the rest of the candidates are independent.
Other candidates running for the provincial seat include Malik Mohammad Ashfaq, Malik Saadullah Khan, Zafar Ali Khan, Sadiqur Rehman and Rehmatullah alias Kaka Jan.
The polling took place under tight security arrangements.
