Shahbaz seeks results from police
Tuesday, August 28th, 2012 11:04:25 by Fayyaz YaseenLahore: Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif said here today that the police have been provided with all sorts of resources and now it was their turn to show the results. In order to beef up the police force for their enhanced
capacity to fight the crimes in Lahore, the CM has ordered for the recruitment of four thousand retired soldiers.
Shahbaz, who was presiding over a law and order meeting in the Model Town, ordered recruitment of four thousand soldiers on contract so as the fast spreading crimes in the city can be controlled. He also ordered for deployment
of police troops on the roads, in the streets and in residential colonies for the control of street crimes.
SHahbaz further said that the law and order situation cannot improve unless terrorism and extremism are controlled. He also ordered the police to take effective measures to stop the incidents of extortion.
The Chief Minister Punjab also asked the secretary prosecution to report weekly about the expeditious prosecution of the accused persons under arrest and a comprehensive program should be chalked out for disposing of the old pending
cases.
