Wednesday, August 29th, 2012 9:27:55 by Imran Shaukat KhanThe ultimate diva of Bollywood industry Kareena Kapoor will be seen on the big screen on September 21 in Madhur Bhandarkar’s forthcoming film ‘Heroine’ and she feels lucky to be in it.
‘Heroine’ is a female centric film which revolves around the life of once successful film actress, Mahi Arora, whose career is one the decline. The role is being played by Kareena, who claims that eighty percent of the film is based on real life.
“I think the film is 80 percent based on reality. I have been watching it while dubbing for the film and I am shocked! After viewing this film, people will know what happens in the personal life of actresses,” said Kareena, who was in the NCR to promote the film today.
“I am glad the film finally came to me as I was keen on working with Madhur since watching Chandni Bar. I am happy I’ve worked with him in his best film,” said Kareena.
The role of Mahi was being played by Ashwarya Rai but she pulled out due to pregnancy issues and it gave Kareena, who was Bhandarkar’s initial choice, a chance to step in. However, Kareena has insisted that she didn’t have any uneasiness taking up the role after Ash opted out.
“I didn’t have any misgiving, nor am I wary of any comparisons. I have played the role my way, no one has played such a role before,” the 31-year-old added.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Bhandarkar, ‘Heroine’ will also feature the likes of Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda and Rakesh Bapat along with Kareena.
Well, all said and done, ‘Heroine’ is currently locking headlines because it has challenged the government’s antismoking laws to stop official health warnings blocking the view of its screen sirens. So let’s see if the film really gets through without undergoing any cuts.
