Katrina Kaif: I had a lot of faith in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’

The uncrowned queen of Bollywood industry Katrina Kaif is on cloud nine these days since her film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, in which she played opposite to her ex-flame Salman Khan, has done a stupendous business at the box office. However, when asked, the actress, who has entered the 100 crore club for the first time in her career, stated she had a lot of faith in the movie due to the director Kabir Khan.

“Well, I trusted Kabir here. He comes with a very good sense of story and drama while his strong execution further demonstrates his solid grasp of cinema. He knows how to build drama and enhance it with visual treatment. Coming to your point around me believing in the script of EK THA TIGER then well, I had a lot of faith in the film even when just a basic thread was narrated to me,” insisted Katrina.

‘Ek Tha Tiger’, which was released on the Independence day, has turned out to be a blockbuster since it has earned over 200 crore in 12 days.

Many out there are crediting Salman Khan for the success of the film but Katrina is happy for not just being an ornamental to the film.

While sharing thoughts with the media, the 28-year-old British-born beauty was all praises for Kabir Khan as she thinks he always keeps a strong role for his heroines.

“One thing about Kabir is that he has a very strong role for his heroine. He never sees a woman as an ornamental thing where she comes for five songs and then goes away. If a heroine is cast then she ought to have a very strong and important character. Due to that reason I never felt tense about how my role would ultimately shape up on-screen,” she smiled.

Katrina Kaif will now be seen in Yash Chopra’s much-anticipated upcoming film, which has not been titled as of yet. In the movie, which will hit the cinemas on Diwali, Katrina will play opposite to the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan.
