Becca Mann and David Heron seize gold medals – Junior Pan Pacific Championships

Becca Mann and David Heron seized gold medals of Women and Men’s 10k Open Water races respectively at the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships.

With her epic pace, she stayed in a considerably lead over her opponents and crossed the finishing line with a timing of 1 hour, 57 minutes and 22.00 seconds.

Her title claiming effort remained 18 seconds faster from Emily Seymour, who followed her on the finishing line as second fastest swimmer by posting a time of 1 hour, 57 minutes and 40.00 seconds.

Seymour was chased by Rachel Zilinskas, who remained 14 seconds away from upsetting her former finisher and emerged on the finishing line for bronze medal by clocking a time of 1 hour, 57 minutes and 54.00 seconds.

Fourth fastest spot of the race was secured by Grace Sommerville, who remained marginally away from Zilinskas and clocked a timing of 1 hour, 57 minutes and 54.00 seconds.

Afterwards, Heron captured gold medal of the Men’s 10k race. He remained in a considerable lead over his opponents and sprinted his way towards the finishing line for gold medal by crossing the end with a phenomenal timing of 1 hour, 42 minutes and 01.00
seconds.

The gold medallist was chased by Zachary Parkes of Canada, who stayed 23 seconds slower and settled on the finishing blockade as second position holder by completing his swim in a wonderful time of 1 hour, 42 minutes and 24.00 seconds.

Subsequently, Parkes was followed by Janardan Burns of USA, who remained more than half a minute slower from him over the finishing end and secured bronze medal of the race by submitting a nice time of 1 hour, 42 minutes and 57.00 seconds.

Burns was trailed by Takumi Nakashima of Japan, who was nine seconds slower from upsetting the third position holder and settled on the blockade as fourth fastest swimmer by reporting a time of 1 hour, 43 minutes and 06.00 seconds.

Furthermore, the winners received medals at the prize ceremony of the tournament after the session.
