Scientists at the National Academy of Sciences in Japan say they have created a new simple blood test that determines the setting of a person’s circadian clock.
A human´s circadian rhythm dictates digestion, metabolic processes and when we need sleep. Researchers examine hormones and amino acids in two blood samples taken 12 hours apart. Then they can tell you if you´re a night owl or an early bird.
The test results could carry benefits to those who are dieting because "eating at the wrong point of a circadian cycle can lead to putting on weight."
