Erik Morales: Danny Garcia hasn’t changed and improved
Friday, August 31st, 2012 4:06:29 by Imran Shaukat KhanFour division world champion Erik Morales fully geared up ahead of his upcoming rematch with the current Ring Magazine, WBC and WBA (Super) Light Welterweight Champion, Danny Garcia, which will take place at the Barclays Center in New York.
Garcia shocked every by securing a unanimous decision over Morales earlier this year when they met at the Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas. He later left everyone flabbergasted by stopping Amir Khan in the fourth round.
However, Morales is still not impressed with Garcia since he believes he is not as fast as him and on the fight night he will avenge his defeat.
Morales explained in Mexico City’s Zona Rosa, “It’s going to be a difficult fight, but I have motivation, and it’s more than just money. I’m going work and do everything to enable me to lift my hand in victory. It’s a motivation!
“I’ve got enough time to prepare and to be in top shape, with better speed and strength. I can achieve a better level than in the last fight. While Danny is the same fighter. Technically he hasn’t changed and he hasn’t improved. He’s not a very fast boxer.”
The undefeated American prospect, who holds a perfect record of winning all of his 24 professional fights, with 15 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, on the other hand is in no mood to answer Morales right now as he wants to do the talking in the ring.
Garcia told RingTV “I’ll do my talking in the ring, and this time, I’ll stop him. I’m tired of these excuses everyone has when I win. I beat him last time and Morales never even shook my hand after the fight.”
Well, all said and done, there is not much time left in the fight now so let’s see if Morales can really regain his image by becoming the first man ever to defeat Garcia in the ring.
