Slipknot’s Corey Taylor talks about Knotfest’s future
Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 12:17:56 by Haris AnsariSlipknot front-man, Corey Taylor, has expressed his love for Slayer, and has admitted that he would love to perform with the band on the Knotfest shows.
“For me I would like to keep it – bands from our generation or maybe Slayer would be wonderful to have on the Knotfest shows. Stuff like Korn would be great, Rob Zombie – maybe even encourage a White Zombie reunion? I’m not sure, there’s a lot of great metal bands out there right now and this might be a great platform for them to have their own moment in the sun. I think as long as we put together a package people really want to see, I think it will sell itself”, Taylor was quoted as saying in an interview to the Beat.
The 38-year-old singer went on to reveal that the band would be taking a break to start working on the new studio album.
“We’re gonna take a break and slowly but surely start putting some music together. Obviously I have Stone Sour that’ll probably be going out for about a year, two years with two albums. Joey’s got something, Clown’s got something, everybody’s got something that they’re doing right now but we’ll start putting music together and just kind of seeing what happens”
“The more we feel together as a band and as a family the easier it will be to start working on new music. Obviously without Paul, it’s a little bittersweet but I think the closer we become as a band, the closer we’ll be to making a new album – so maybe in a couple years, we’ll see. It’s going to take a little time”, Taylor concluded.
