Pak Women’s team eyes good SAFF Cup display
Thursday, September 6th, 2012 4:01:43 by Shahrukh SohailThe burgeoning young footballers are looking to put up a good performance in the regional tournament which is taking place in Sri Lanka this year.
Coach Muhammad Rashid was looking forward to the competition and was hoping that the players would benefit from matches against tops sides of the continent.
“It looks difficult for a team with little international exposure to surprise tough sides like India and Nepal who have been playing under a system for the last 25 years. But our team is not that weak and I think they will give them a tough time. We have
worked hard for the last one month and I believe that the team will perform better in Colombo,” said the tactician.
Skipper Sana Mehmud also backed the side’s chances of getting a positive result, claiming that the squad was fit and raring to go.
“The cream of the available lot has been picked and I hope that we will perform well as all the players are fitter and eager to perform,” she said.
