Rowan Henderson, one of the most promising shuttlers from Australia, showed his elevated skills on court in Men’s Singles first round when he showed a strong performance against Lucas Bui at the Australian Closed Championships Sydney 2012 on August 29, in
Australia.
The un-seeded Rowan played to his maximum potential and remained successful in registering a spectacular win over the opponent in a dominating manner.
The impressive Rowan displayed his tremendous skills on court while playing against Lucas and remained ahead all the way in the whole contest to end it up with a remarkable margin on the score board.
In the meanwhile, the confused Lucas could not play competitive badminton as he failed to play with control and power in his shots and also failed to stop his opponent’s progress. He finally bowed down to Rowan in straight sets without proving his worth
on score board.
The in-form Rowan occupied on the driving seat from the starting points of opening set and remained aggressive in his play by executing powerful strokes.
The aggression and consistency of Rowan helped him to build pressure on his rival and he took a remarkable lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the aggressive Rowan remained consistent in his play without showing any sign of confusion and managed to maintain his upper hand on court.
Rowan was at his best as he easily wrapped up opening set with a smashing margin of 21-13.
However, it was a good fight in the following set as Lucas geared up his speed and did not let Rowan to build lead at initial stage.
Both shuttlers showed good fight and no one could manage a reasonable lead until the mid-game interval.
The passionate Rowan played attacking game after the break while taking the bird early from all areas. He controlled the pace of rallies and finished off the second game with a reasonable score of 21-18
Rowan showed exit to Lucas in a dominating fashion with a 21-13 and 21-18 margin on the score board.
