PIA start PPL with win
Friday, September 7th, 2012 5:19:01 by Shahrukh SohailThe Karachi-based giants got off to a flyer after beating HBL in a thrilling encounter.
With a 2-0 victory, PIA boss Shamim Khan was rightfully buzzing, although he was keen to reiterate that his team were still not performing at their very best.
“Shakir was in great form. We’re delighted to get off to a winning start since we didn’t get enough time to train. The fitness levels are still not up to the mark but so far, so good.”
HBL were on the losing side, but according to manager Yousuf Khan, the team still needs time to settle in after acquiring some new recruits this summer.
“We have signed nine players in the close-season so it will take time for them to gel in and play as a team. We are hoping that results improve with time.”
