Rani Mukherji says she can’t do dark roles

Bollywood actress Rani Mukherji is currently participating in the shooting of her upcoming film ‘Aiyyaa’ and the actress says she signed for the movie because she wanted something different. The actress specially mentioned that she didn’t want to do a dark role.

Rani, who is one of the finest actresses in the tinsel town, has teamed up with Anurag Kashyap for her home production and while speaking on her inclusion she said she wanted to do a happy quirky movie.

“As I had done dark films like No One Killed Jessica and to be released Talaash, I wanted to do something different, hence chose this movie,” she said.

“When Anurag came to me I told him that I can’t do the kind of movies that he makes…that I don’t want to do dark films. I told Anurag I want to do happy film. I was surprised when Anurag told me he is offering me a happy film,” Rani told reporters at the first look of Aiyyaa.

Rani, who was dressed up like her character, adorning a yellow-green ‘nawari’ sari, also commented on Kashyap. The actress claimed Kashyap is a pretty entertaining person in his real life, unlike the films he is known for making.

In Aiyyaa, Rani will be seen playing a role opposite to the Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is making his B’town debut with this film.

While sharing thoughts with the media, Rani was all praises for the south actor.

“Prithvi is awesome. He is a wonderful person. He is really handsome and lovely to work with. Now I know why he is such a huge star. He is a very special actor,” Rani said.

Aiyyaa, which is scheduled to hit the cinema halls on October 12, doesn’t have a very complex storyline. In the movie Rani plays the role of a Marathi girl who falls in love with a Tamil boy, Prithviraj.

Rani has worked a lot on her dialect and pronunciation for this Marathi film so let’s see what response it garners at the box office.
