Reiterate adherence to Quaid’s principles to make Pakistan prosperous: Asif Ali Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday said that the best to make the country prosperous is to reiterate adherence to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

In his message on 64th death anniversary of the Muhammad Ali Jinnah, President Zardari has said that the observance of death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam is a day for the nation to renew its commitment to the principles of democracy, constitutionalism and egalitarianism that the Father of the Nation propounded throughout his life.

He observed, “This is also an occasion for us to reflect on how far we have adhered to the principles for which the Quaid and founding fathers created this homeland”.

In his view, the need for imbibing the true spirit of Pakistan’s creation was never as great as it is today when the country’s foundational principles had been threatened by extremists and terrorists.

He noted, “The best way to pay homage to Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his death anniversary is to reiterate our adherence to these principles. For ensuring democracy militants as well as those who shun ballot and seek to impose their own political agenda on the people through bullet must be defeated”.

President Zardari said that the nation must guard against assault on the Constitution for ensuring Constitutionalism by those who are unelected and have no mandate of the masses.

In order to ensure egalitarianism and social justice, the nation must seek rehabilitation and reconstruction for countless lives that have been devastated by the militants on the one hand and the natural disasters in the country on the other, he added.

He remarked, “Let us on this day reiterate that we will continue to struggle for the vision of Quaid-e-Azam for achieving the goal of a federal and democratic polity that is based on egalitarianism and social justice for all”.

He also asked the masses to stand united against the forces of darkness, against those who fan sectarianism and against those who victimize marginalized sections of society.

Paying tribute to the martyrs and those who made sacrifices for the creation of the country and subsequently for democracy in the country, he said they should become united for guarding the country which was achieved with great difficulties.
